DictionaryForMIDs is an open source application and can be configured for many different languages. This dictionary is the English-Portuguese version
There are two versions here of the English-Portuguese dictionary. One is based on a dictionary from the IDP (Internet Dictionary Project) and the other, on Freedict.org. By default you will receive the Freedict dictionary version which is larger. If we know for sure that your phone will not support the larger FreeDict 2.3.0 version, you will automatically receive the smaller IDP 2.4.0 version.
Features:
- There is no need for an internet connection, the dictionary is directly included in the JAR-file.
- Sophisticated search features that also allow users to find phrases and use of various wildcard characters, for example: * matches any series of characters and ? matches any single character
- Very short search time for translation thanks to elaborated index structures.
- Runs on every device that supports the MIDP (Mobile Information Device Profile) and has enough memory to host the dictionary. It also runs on PCs.
- Open source project and as such free software.
