Description by DigitalMobileMap
VGPS was designed to use City street map on your ordinary cell phone without the need of having a GPS receiver or an internet connection. However, if you have internal GPS receiver or external bluetooth GPS receiver, VGPS can work with your GPS receiver as well. VGPS does not require internet connection so you do not need to worry about connection charge.
+ Geocaching. When you define a target waypoint, VGPS will show 8 direction arrows (N,E,W,S,NE,NW,SE,SW) and distance to target in km
+ Search Point By Distance. You can search point by point's name, type, distance or mix type+name, type+distance
+ Display Routing Nodes on map. You can select whether or not to display routing nodes on map
+ Keep On Road. When you use GPS tracking you can select whether you want VGPS keep on road or not. If you choose keep on road, VGPS will only move the map if your GPS location on the road, VGPS will ignore all GPS location out of road. If you choose not keep on road, VGPS will move the map to your GPS location regardless whether your GPS location is on the road or not
+ In Car Navigation. When you use Realtime Tracking and/or Autorouting function, VGPS will rotate the map so that the facing direction (heading) is always "UP".
+ Manage routes and waypoints within your phone.
+ Autorouting by using A* algorithm to search for the shortest route from waypoint start to waypoint end and guide you along the route.
+ Support Standard Location API JSR179, works with phone's internal GPS receiver.
+ Support Standard NMEA Sentence, works with any bluetooth GPS receiver.
+ Can load huge map data into phone's limited memory.
+ Zoom in/Zoom out/Pan.
+ Incremental search for point label, street label.
+ Fully support touch screen.
+ Can move pointer freely to touch any object on the screen.
+ Auto adjust displaying of street's name according to length and shape of the street.

Phone requirement:
* RAM (Heap Size) at least 500KB.
* JAR size limitation must be larger than 200KB.
* If you want to use VGPS with bluetooth GPS, your phone needs to support JSR82 API.
